Obituary of Donna Marie Reed

Devoted wife, mother and grandmother
Donna Marie Reed, 63, passed away peacefully in Mesa, AZ, in the early morning hours of June 26, 2023, with her devoted husband of 41 years by her side. Donna was born August 21, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois and coincidentally shared her birthday with her favorite place Hawaii. She was the youngest of three born to Moe Fleckenstein and Rena Burns. Donna moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, with her family at the age of 14, where she loved to roller skate. She graduated from Manitou High School in 1977, where she met the man Rolly Reed who would share in an amazing journey for the next 47 years of life. Donna was always helping and putting others before herself. She went to Pikes Peak Community College to study nursing and graduated as a Registered Nurse working at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs until 1981, when she married the love of her life, Rolly Reed, October 10, 1981, and moved to Arizona to begin their wonderful life they built together. The two were inseparable and were each other’s life long companions. They were blessed with two children: Jennifer and Rolly Jr. Donna quickly landed a career at Neurological Physicians of Arizona, where she worked hard for the next 34 years and remained present encouraging her home to be an environment of love. She and Rolly were dedicated to their family providing unconditional love and support, demonstrating what love, happiness, relationships and parents look like. They were always so involved in school activities, sports and life events; big, small and everything in between for their children and grandchildren. Donna loved to have fun and make the most it. She was down for anything. She liked the Cubbies, the Bears, talking, laughing, socializing, shopping, her Wednesday ladies night with the gals, doing a whole lot of fun stuff with her sister in law Jo, NASCAR, camping, going to the lake, paddle boarding on the ocean, traveling with her family or just her husband, escaping on the weekends to their cabin up North and just absolutely being the life of the party. Donna’s compassion was easily felt as those she encountered were drawn to her. Donna will especially be remembered by anyone who met her, automatically loved her special, bright and bubbly spirit, her beautiful infectious smile and her positive outlook on everything that served to strengthen everyone around her leaving an impact on those lives that will always be remembered, missed and admired. She was a fierce and loyal friend. Forever loved and always remembered.

Donna was proceeded in death by her father Moe and succeeded in life by her husband Rolly, her mother Rena, her son Rolly Jr, her daughter Jennifer, her six grandchildren with one on the way, her Brother Jerry, her sister Laurie and many, many friends.
