Obituary of John Davidson Gordon Jr.

John Davidson Gordon Jr. formerly of Carlsbad, New Mexico died September 3rd, 2004 at home with his daughter Betty Jo and husband Bill Prowell in Mesa Arizona at the age of 90. John was born in Watertown, Massachusetts May 27th, 1914 to John Davidson Gordon Sr. and Lucy Emily Campbell. John worked at DVICC from 1945 till 1969, where he was a geologist, supervisor and Chief Mining Engineer. After retiring from IMCC, he moved to Prescott Az. and taught in Humboldt School District and at Yavapai College. John served 26 years in the United States Army Intelligence Corp retiring as Lieutenant Colonel. John is preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Betty Lea and siblings. He is survived by son Richard of Phoenix, Az, daughter Betty Jo and husband Bill Prowell, Mesa Az, John and Gina Prowell, Raytown Mo; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kori and Chase, Suzanne Prowell and great-granddaughter Emilea of Mesa, Az. Memorial services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Lehi 3rd ward in Mesa Arizona Friday 10:00 am and burial with full military honors at the Arizona National Cemetery in Phoenix, Az.
