Obituary of Joseph A. Baird

Joseph A. Baird, born July 6, 1925 in El Paso, Texas passed away on October 25, 2004 at Odyssey Hospice House after suffering a massive heart attack a month before. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mabel Anderson and William Wycliff Baird, and a daughter, Audrey Elaine Baird at age 12 years. Joe is survived by sisters: Margaret Cachran and Charlotte Moriaty; and brother Mark, all living out of the area. He is also survived by his wife of 55 years, Gladys Cox Baird; and daughters: Christy Craddock Al of Gresham, Oregon, Debby Coulter Glen of Raleigh, North Carolina and four grandchildren: Allyson Craddock, Cory Joe Craddock, Chelsey Jo Coulter and Brittany Jo Coulter. A man of strong Christian faith, Joe spent his lifetime serving the Lord, caring for his family and working as an educator, teaching in Junior colleges or administrating adult education programs. He has been retired since 1987. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday October 30, 2004 at the First Baptist Church of Mesa, 4801 East Brown Rd Mesa, AZ.
