To many emotions to write now, but I will share a letter frrom the past that describes some to the wonderful things I love and appreciate about my dad. Dad, I love you and miss you! Dad, I love you!!! I thank you for sharing your love with me throughout my life! I felt love as a child when you would put down your hunting magazine to listen to me read from my "Dick and Jane" books. I love all the time we spent together picking fruit from Littlerock road markets, U-Pick farms, roadsides, and mountain sides. I loved eating, canning, and baking fruit with you. Thinking of making jam, reminds me to thank you for teaching me to bake bread. We sure love food. I thank-you for our many adventures in New York. I especially loved our day at the Statue of Liberty. It was a wonderful day! Which reminds me to thank-you for the example of your love and appreciation for our free nation. As a child, I so enjoyed going for rides on the back of your little red Honda cycle. I remember riding on it to set up and deposit money in my saving account. You taught me the importance of saving, which has always blessed my life. Thank-you for instilling this attribute in my life. Through the years, I have been grateful to have savings and for the times you have blessed our family with your savings. Your generous contributions to missionary work are an example of your testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. You want to share the gospel with not only with your family but all of Heavenly Father's children throughout the world. Your testimony shines in your example of service to family, the lives you touched on your mission to Australia, and now to all those you serve through family history and temple service. Your love and service are an example of your love and testimony of our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. Thank- you! One of my favorite expressions of love was the example of the importance of family shown in building your cabin in Ione Washington. You built it to be a place for family relationships to be built and flourish. You took time for group and individual moments with your children and grandchildren. My children (except Katie who never went) have wonderful memories from their times with you and family at the cabin. It was not just a location, but a place in time, a place where love and joy was shared. Thank-you for creating it. I appreciate your continued efforts to show love and build relationships as you have made many trips out to Oregon to spend time with my family. Blackberry picking is always more fun with you! Love Danette
