Obituary of Valentin Martinez Galvan

Funeral Services for Valentin M. Galvan of Mesa will be November 19th at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 142 N. Date, in Mesa. Viewing will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a Celebration of Life Service from 11 to 12. The Reverend Miguel Gomez-Acosta presiding. Mr. Galvan will be buried at a later date as he wishes to be buried in Wyoming, his wife's home state. Mr. Galvan died Nov. 10th at Banner Gateway Hospital after a brief illness. He was 72. Val was born March 1, 1950 in Mesa, AZ, the son of Pete and Luisa Galvan. He attended Westwood High School, graduating in 1968. He married Rhea K. Conilogue of Lander, Wyoming on February 21st, 1981. Mr. Galvan worked for the City of Mesa for 34 years, retiring in 2003. He worked is way up from throwing garbage cans to Supervisor of Utility Construction. Mr. Galvan loved playing or watching golf, watching old westerns on tv and hanging out with family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Rhea, his children Valentin M. Galvan jr. ,(Terri); Tawni D. Beutler; Kim L. Young, (Ricky); and Toni M. Bingochea, (Joe); His brother Richard, (Sally); His grandchildren Valentin III, (Hannah); MacKenzie, (Dalton); CJ; Marissa, (Ramo); Dayton; Andreya, (Dylan); Gloria; Gabriela; Kalea; Jose, and 9 1/2 great-grandchildren. Mr. Galvan was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Luisa Galvan, his sister Josie, his brothers Abe, Randy, Gilbert, Placido (Leon), and Peter.
