Obituary of Susan Davis

Susan Davis, age 73, of Mesa, AZ, passed away on August 3, 2023. She was born on June 23, 1950, in Mesa, AZ. Susan was a beloved sister, aunt, and friend.

Susan was known for her vibrant spirit and her love for celebrating birthdays and making every holiday memorable. After her mother's passing she made sure to continue the traditions that had been passed down. She spent her time making countless birthday cakes, Easter baskets for all her nieces and nephews, buying way too many Christmas gifts and always waiting until the last minute to do so. She brought joy and happiness to the lives of those around her. She was the favorite 'Aunt' to so many.

Susan was a true warrior and fought for many years for her health. Whenever she was asked how she was feeling she always responded with a “hanging in there.”

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Ernestine and Joseph C. Davis Sr., and her brothers Joseph (Joey) C. Davis Jr. and Ronn Davis.

Susan is survived by her sister, Sandra Vitulli, and her nieces and nephews: Steven (MaryAnne) Vitulli, Jennifer Vitulli Sullens, Stephanie Samora, Lindsey Davis, Joseph Davis, Megan (Nathan) Painter, and Jessica Davis. She also leaves behind many great grandnieces and nephews whom she all adored.

Before retiring to care for her mother, Ernestine, Susan worked at Motorola. She was a dedicated caretaker and second mother to many whom her family opened their arms, hearts and home to.

Barring her health, Susan was an active member of the Church of Latter Day Saints, Beverly Ward. Susan was a devout and faithful follower of God, embodying his teachings and living her life by his example each and every day. She was the kindest person you’ve ever met.

The visitation for Susan will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Meldrums Mortuary, located at 52 N Macdonald, Mesa, AZ 85201. Church visitation will occur on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 11:00 am at Maricopa Stake Center, located at 613 N Stewart Mesa, AZ 85201. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm, followed by lunch. The burial will take place at City of Mesa Cemetery at 2:00 pm.

Susan will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will forever be cherished.
