Norma Furr

Obituary of Norma Faye Furr

Norma Faye Furr, devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away on May 3, 2023, at the age of 86. Born on May 21, 1936, in Mesa, Ariz., Norma was a beautiful soul who cherished her family, friends, and dogs.

She is survived by her sons; Rick and his wife Barbara, and Kenneth; her granddaughters Tonya (Lance) and Kristy (Jenna); her grandson Steven, her sister Cheryl and her husband John Gieske, and the mother of her grandchildren Linda Furr. Norma was great-grandmother to Lilly, Jayden, Bella, Layne and Evan.

Affectionately known as ‘Nornie’ to her grandchildren, she was an inspiration to those who knew her and a hardworking woman who became the first female branch manager nationwide for Dial Finance Company in the 1960s.

She had a passion for nature and rocks, always stopping to admire the smallest and most interesting stones she came across. She also had a deep appreciation for Native American art and jewelry. Norma was a devoted fan of the Phoenix Suns and always watched their games.

Norma is now reunited with her husband of 53 years, Richard (2006), and countless dogs. We all miss you and think of you every time we see a rock shining in the sun.
