Obituary of Robert Leroy Porter

Robert Leroy Porter passed away on March 29, 2023 at the age of 73. He was born at Williams Air Force Base in Mesa, Arizona. Robert grew up in Arizona and graduated from Mesa high school.

Robert married his high school sweetheart and raised a family in Mesa Arizona. They resided in Mesa Arizona for the rest of his life, an Arizona native. Robert worked as a draftsman and had a landscape company until he began his career in shotcrete. He started a shotcrete company in 1987 and that company is still in operation.

Robert showed tremendous love for his family and was a successful business owner. Very old-school as they say, meaning, a handshake was as good as a contract in his mind. He loved to go fishing and was in a car club for many years. He met a lot of friends along the way.

In addition to his successful shotcrete business and beloved wife, Karen of 56 years, Robert is survived by his three sisters, his daughter, two granddaughters, one grandson, and two great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his daughter, parents, grandparents, and great grandparents.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Meldrum Mortuary located at 52 N. McDonald Drive Mesa, AZ 85201. A service will be held at in Meldrum Mortuary on Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Procession at 11:15 AM to follow from Meldrum Mortuary to Mesa Cemetery.
