Obituary of Richard Marvin Hawkes

Richard Marvin Hawkes Born August 11,1941 to February 25. 2022 Marvin was born in West Virginia and moved to Mesa when he was in the 6th grade. While at the 6th grade he won the good dinning award because he was always a clean plater. He also made the kids sitting next to him clean platters. Marvin lived next to Mesa Jr. High School growing up and made the track team running the 440. He said that he always imagined some very large person chasing him so he would run faster. He graduated from Mesa High in 1959, Shortly after his graduation he married and went to work for Moore's radiator service. He then opened his own shop Hawke's Radiator service. He became the go to guy for good work on time and at a fair price. He also was president of the Independent Garage Owners Association . While at the radiator shop Marvin began to install RV Awnings for the Manufacturer Carefree of Colorado. Marvin then sold off the Radiator business and became Carefree of Arizona. The business is still going strong offering over a thousand different after market parts to RV Workers as the wholesale Distributor for the southwest. Marvin is Survived by his sons James and Richard and grandchildren Tia and Cody and his sister Thelma, Please join us .for a memorial service at Meldrum Mortuary, 52 N. Macdonald,, Mesa.
