Obituary of Betsy Anne Ross Kelley

Betsy Anne Ross Kelley, 85, of Gilbert, AZ, died on June 30, 2022. Betsy was born in Durham, NC, on December 11, 1936. She was the daughter of George Delma Ross, Sr. and Bessie White Ross of Bath, NC Betsy graduated from Bath High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She graduated from King's' Daughters Hospital as a registered nurse. Betsy was dedicated to serving others. On April 18, 1960, Betsy married George W. Kelley of Washington, NC, who preceded her in death. Betsy and Kelley led an adventurous life, living in Hawaii, California, and Arizona, as they followed Kelley's career in federal law enforcement. They retired in Gilbert, Arizona. Betsy had a multitude of talents. She played the piano, sang beautifully, was a gifted artist in oils and acrylics. She appreciated the arts and poetry. She was a happy and joyful person who taught others to laugh and sing. Betsy is survived by her daughter, Maura Caroline Kelley of Seattle, Washington. She leaves behind 4 nieces and one nephew: Jennifer Ross Sawyer, Janet Ross Courson, George D. Ross III, Laurie Ross Smith, and Lisa Ross Duke as well as many loved cousins. A special thanks to Betsy's caregiver, Lauralee Chase, who Betsy referred to as her Angel. Betsy brought such fun to her family and friends. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in Bath, N.C. Events Details are pending.
